Interview Jantine, VicoVida Healthy Homes

"And this is the circle of real estate," says Jantine Rosina van Oosten with a smile as she sits across from us in our office on Paulus Potterstraat in Amsterdam. Jantine has been active in real estate for many years, both in the Netherlands and in Spain, and is a dear friend of Nomos Real Estate Circle. This morning, she is sharing an exclusive announcement with us—one that marks a new chapter in her career.

A year ago, she co-founded Felizz Real Estate with Femke Schrakamp, specializing in real estate in Spain. However, they have now decided to join forces with a good friend: VicoVida Healthy Homes.

How did this special collaboration come about? How does Jantine help Dutch clients find their dream home in Spain? And what role does Nomos Real Estate Circle play in all of this?

"Do you have a tissue handy? It’s going to be a touching story," Jantine says.

Let’s start at the beginning: the founding of Felizz Real Estate. How did you establish this company?

"In 2023, Femke Schrakamp and I attended MIPIM, the global real estate conference in Cannes. While we were there, we talked about our shared love for Spain. I had recently purchased an apartment in the village where I had lived for almost 12 years—Estepona. And Femke was about to become the proud owner of a beautiful new-build apartment in Valencia.

We both frequently received questions from our network about real estate in Spain: Do you know a reliable real estate agent? Is this a good place to live? Do you know a good Dutch-speaking lawyer? What do I need to arrange at the notary? These questions made it clear to us that there was a strong demand for a trustworthy partner to guide people in purchasing real estate in Spain.

Since we personally know what’s involved in buying property in Spain, are well-acquainted with the real estate market, and I have built a large network during my years of living there, we decided to join forces. That’s how Felizz Real Estate was born—a company that helps clients realize their dream home in Spain with the right expertise and personal experience."

And now you are about to join VicoVida Healthy Homes with Felizz Real Estate. How did that come about?

"Yes, absolutely! And what makes this so special is that it brings us back to you, to Nomos Real Estate Circle. Shortly after meeting you, we decided to move forward together and offer our properties in Spain exclusively through NOMOS. In April, we presented a joint new-build project at your office, and something extraordinary happened there: one of the guests turned out to be an old, dear friend of mine—Georgios Petropoulos, who is now also a valued connection of Nomos.

This unexpected reunion brought us back together immediately. That afternoon, we discussed the opportunities in Spain, and eventually, Georgios proposed that Femke and I merge Felizz Real Estate into his company: VicoVida Healthy Homes. That’s how an old bond was rekindled, and now we’re embarking on a new adventure.

This is the circle. When Rob, co-owner of NOMOS, told me that you were forming Nomos Real Estate Circle with Real Estate Network and Van Triest Makelaardij, while we were becoming a partner in VicoVida Healthy Homes, I thought: How incredible that everything is falling into place like this. The circle is complete."

Tell us more about this new step—what does VicoVida Healthy Homes stand for?

"VicoVida focuses on an exclusive segment where our philosophy of ‘Healthy Homes’ is central. We offer stunning resorts, often located near golf courses, nature reserves, beaches, and the sea. VicoVida has a strong infrastructure, giving us the opportunity to guide people even better in finding their dream home in Spain.

Our motto is: ‘Real estate is a craft’, and at VicoVida, we have decades of experience to make that a reality."

Some of our readers may be considering buying property in Spain. Can you tell us how you guide people through this process?

"Of course! Although we are mostly based in Spain, we love meeting our Dutch buyers in person to discuss their specific wishes and needs. This can be done at our offices in Amsterdam and Utrecht.

From my own experience in purchasing real estate in Spain, I know how reassuring it is to work with Dutch-speaking partners on-site. That is incredibly important.

Next, we assist in finding the right residential area and the perfect home that matches the client’s personal wishes and lifestyle. If desired, we travel with them to visit the property. Some clients prefer to explore on their own, in which case we arrange a guide on location. Others want us to accompany them personally—we truly embark on the journey with them.

The most beautiful moment is at the notary’s office, when the keys are handed over and the client officially becomes the owner of the home they have dreamed about for so long.

Some people also want to rent out their future home as an investment. However, short-term and long-term rentals in Spain require rental licenses, and each region has its own laws and regulations for this. We also guide our clients in obtaining these licenses so that they fully comply with local requirements."

"VicoVida operates in three stunning regions:

• Costa Brava – Close to Barcelona, offering a mix of culture and vibrant city life.
• Costa Blanca – Known for its sun-drenched beaches and charming cities like Alicante and Valencia.

Netherlands or Spain?

"Spain, absolutely."

Mediterranean or modern resort?

"Mediterranean. I live in a Mediterranean-style home, and I absolutely love those beautiful soft colors."

"Cava, delicious. And I love drinking it in my Mediterranean home!"
