Nuri Bilge Ceylan – Inner Landscapes at Eye Filmmuseum

This Saturday, on January the 18th, the Eye Filmmuseum will host the first Dutch exhibition on Turkish filmmaker Nuri Bilge Ceylan.

Set in the iconic Eye Filmmuseum, a cultural cornerstone on Amsterdam’s waterfront, Inner Landscapes offers an experience that is both thought-provoking and visually arresting.

This Saturday, on January the 18th, the Eye Filmmuseum will host the first Dutch exhibition on Turkish filmmaker Nuri Bilge Ceylan, showcasing his award-winning films accompanied by a selection from his photography series Turkey Cinemascope. The combination of film and photography uncovers Ceylans cinematic vision and his sense for mise-en-scène and composition. His films often explore universal themes of estrangement, purpose, and the very essence of life itself. It’s a style that encourages contemplation - both of the world around us and our place within it. The Turkey Cinemascope photography series offers a complementary glimpse into Ceylan’s ability to capture vast landscapes, moments of stillness, and a sense of solitude. The photographs are as much a part of his storytelling as his films, providing a look at the settings that inform his cinematic worlds.

And in true Eye Filmmuseum fashion, the night before the exhibition’s official opening, a special DJ-set by Jasper Verhulst, member of the renowned Dutch-Turkish psychedelic rock band Altin Gün, will set the stage. And you are welcome to join. Find the invitation form and more details here: Eye Filmmuseum - Nuri Bilge Ceylan https://development.eyefilm.nl/programma/nuri-bilge-ceylan/1367823
